Booster Club Meeting - December 1st

Booster Club meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1st, weather permitting.  Please see the Champlin Park High School home page for weather cancellations HERE.

Meeting time and location: Tuesday, December 1st, 6:30-7:30pm, CPHS room D151.

Tentative agenda for Tuesday's meeting:

1) Treasurer's report and financial update.

2) Vote to adopt a Financial Assistance Policy and determine the fiscal budget for this line item if the policy is adopted.  Find the proposed policy HERE.

3) Final planning for the Pasta Dinner and Silent Auction.

4) Discuss alternatives for the annual ski trip if Maplelag doesn't have skiable snow.

5) Meet Snack Food and Pasta Party Volunteers.

6) Coaches update.

Cub Bagging Fundraiser Was A Success!


$2,090 was received at the team’s Cub Bagging fundraiser this past Wednesday, November 25th.  The amount was slightly more than last year and slight more than budget…Success!  Thank you to all the students and parents who volunteered Wednesday…your gift of time was greatly appreciated.

If you were not apart of the success on Wednesday and would like to financially help the team, consider asking others willing to give to donate to the Booster Club.  It is easy to do and can be done through email or the regular mail.  A letter to send can be found on the blog site and also HERE
The Champlin Park High School Nordic Booster Club is recognized as a charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with Code section 170.

Pasta Dinner Tickets Issued Today - 11/16

Pasta Dinner Tickets were issued to the skiers in an envelope at the end of practice today, November 16th.  Please read the instructions provided and sell the tickets over the next few weeks. If you did not receive your ticket envelope or have questions, please contact the Treasurer, Craig Crandall (crandallcraig@msn.com).

The Pasta Dinner is our most important fundraiser of the year, plus it is a celebration of CPHS Nordic.  The revenue generated helps the team purchase expensive wax supplies and other costs not funded by the school district.

Team Jacket and Team T-Shirt Order Due Date Extended to Thursday, November 12th

If you wish to order a Team Jacket and Team T-Shirt, please email your order to the Treasurer, Craig Crandall (crandallcraig@msn.com) before Friday, November 13th. Craig will order the apparel Friday morning and collect payments the second week of practice.

Please complete the Booster Club Worksheet HERE and follow the instructions on page 2 and 3.

Earlier this week Craig received an extension from the vendors without impacting our desired delivery date.  But Friday the 13th is the day orders must be placed with the vendors...no more extensions.

Get Involved - Champlin Park High School Cross Country Booster Club

Parents, please consider getting involved with the Champlin Park High School Cross Country Booster Club.  The Booster Club provides support for both the Rebels and the Jackson Cross Country teams.  The Booster Club will be electing officers at the next meeting.

The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 20th at 6:30pm at the high school.

Reminder: Awards Banquet is Tuesday, February 24th - Please RSVP ASAP!

The Nordic Awards Banquet is Tuesday, February 24th.

We need everyone to RSVP by Tuesday, February 17th.
Please response to Craig Crandall at crandallcraig@msn.com with your number of attendees for dinner. Cost is $15 per person.

Banquet details:
Cost:  Your cost will be $15 per person. This can be paid at the doorPlease write your check to “CPHS Nordic”.
Where:  The banquet will be held at Edinburgh USA Golf Course, Brooklyn Park.
When:  Tuesday, February 24th…our Social Hour begins at 5:30pm, Dinner served at 6pm and the program will start about 6:45pm.
Menu:  This year the Booster Club decided to go with the gourmet buffet menu and subsidize the cost.  Great food and the cost to you is lower than last year.  Here is this year’s buffet menu:

Ian and Diana Advance to the State Meet!

CPHS Nordic Booster Club Meeting Tonight, Monday January 12th


Keep up the great skiing!  We only have a few regular season meets before conferences and sectionals!  Below are some announcements for this week:

1.  CPHS Nordic Booster Club Meeting TONIGHT:  Join us from 7:30 - 8:30 pm tonight, 1/12, in CPHS room D151.  Below is a tentative agenda:

  • End of Season Banquet (Feb. 24)
  • Coaches Report
  • Old Business (Financial hardship policy subcommittee)
  • New Business (Regularly scheduled practices; pre-race volunteers; JV party)
 2.  Pasta Party THIS WEDNESDAY at the Omann's:  Come to the Omann's house after practice on Wednesday, 1/14.  1 minute from CPHS at 5507 105th Avenue N, Brooklyn Park; Skiers and parents welcome.  Suggested donation of a dessert or $3. 

3.  Meet at Elm Creek on Thursday 1/15.  Race starts at 3:30 pm.

4.  ABC Relay Meet at Theodore Wirth on Saturday 1/17.  Contact the coaches for more information.  Generally the teams are varsity skiers and others who want to participate.

5.  Pasta Parties and JV Party.  Would anyone like to host a pasta party on 1/19; 1/21; or 1/25 (JV meet on 1/26)?  Also, if you wish to host a JV end-of-season party (such as on 1/30 or 1/31) please let Suzy or Craig know (their contact information is on the blog site).

Some Details For the Loppet Invite on Saturday 1/10/2015 - Varsity Only


Here are some useful details regarding tomorrow’s (1/10/2015) race at the Loppet Invite:
 
Race Schedule
Classic - Wave Start (3 waves per gender, one wave every 5 min).
Boys: 11:00am
Girls: 11:30am

Skate - Pursuit Start
Boys: 1:30pm
Girls: 2:15pm

Awards: 3:00pm

Awards ceremony after the last race by the timing building and stadium.  Individual awards for the top 5 boys and girls of the day and an award for the top boys team and top girls team.

The Par 3 building will be available as well as a warming tent during the race. The Chalet is not open and is hosting a wedding, so stay away from the Chalet.
