First Race, Wednesday December 3rd

The team's first race of the season is this Wednesday, December 3rd at Elm Creek Park Reserve.  This is a "Skate Age Group Race".

Limited parking is available at the chalet so it is suggested to arrive no less than 40 minutes before the race to allow time for taking the shuttle bus from the swim beach parking area to the chalet (Winter Recreation Area), and finding a spot to cheer on your skier (the best spot is near the start and finish line which is the "practice area"...just follow the crowd). Dress warm and wear snow boots!

Here is the race schedule and format:

At 20 second intervals a skier will start and do two laps on the man-made snow loop.
3:30        Senior Boys
3:33        Junior Boys
3:36        Sophomore Boys
3:39        Freshman Boys and Returning Middle School Boys
4:00        Senior Girls
4:03        Junior Girls
4:06        Sophomore Girls
4:09        Freshman Girls and Returning Middle School Girls

At 20 second intervals a skier will start and do one lap on the man-made snow loop.
4:30        “Newbie” Boys
4:35        “Newbie” Girls

Per Coach Charlie...Parents must check out skier with a Coach before leaving the race if the skier will not ride the bus back to the school.

Elm Creek Park Reserve:
12400 James Deane Parkway
Maple Grove, MN 55369

As a reminder, we are always accepting food donations and volunteers for meet snacks for the skiers.  The snacks will be at the chalet after the races are finished, so check it out to learn how you can support the team in the future (contact Suzy Scheller to help).

Do You Want a Team Jacket?

We were surprised to deplete our Team Jacket inventory at Monday night’s meeting.  I talked with VOMax today and learned if we order jackets next week, the jackets will be here in mid-December…just in time for the fun skiing!  Depending on how many we order, the cost will be $85-$90 each.  Please let me know if you’re interested in ordering a Team Jacket and how many, so I can work with VOMax to determine the exact cost.  Early next week we’ll collect checks and place the order, but only after I determine the cost.  I may dedicate a link on the blog site on this subject, so check the blog site links for more information.

Here is my email address to let me know your interest in the Team Jackets:
